Garrett Burleson, Assoc. AIA, is an Associate Architect on the path to licensure. He received a Master of Architecture from The University of Texas at San Antonio and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University. During this time, he designed and built a tiny home to live in, and owned and operated a successful landscaping company in Waco, TX that he later sold.

His background as a ceaseless tinkerer, landscaping business owner, Master of Architecture Student, and Associate Architect gives him the ability to apply creative design principles to weave the design of the home with the design of the landscape and create seamless designs. He has worked for architecture firms in San Antonio, TX, Seattle, WA, and San Marcos, TX. Residential Design has been his focus for the majority of his career. In May of 2022 he “hung out his own shingle” and began work as a solo practitioner.

When not in the office, he enjoys time with his wife, Katy, and two children, Grant and Zach. As a family they have traveled, and moved together frequently. They lived in Waco, TX, San Antonio, TX, Seattle, WA, and now live in New Braunfels, TX. They can most often be found at home or in nature.

“Nature is an increasingly influential part of building design—we are being guided by trees, rather than overwhelming them. New architecture is finding innovative methods to incorporate natural landscapes into, onto, and around buildings.”
